Christopher Eccleston who played the 9th Doctor (my favorite Doctor) in the Doctor Who series and also Destro in the 2009 film, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is now set to be the villain, Malekith The Accursed, in Thor: The Dark World. Malekith The Accursed is known in the comics for being a dark elf. This might shed some “light” on to the meaning of the films title.
Eccleston replaces Mads Mikkelson.
Most of the cast from the first film will be returning including Rene Russo and Natalie Portman. Thor: The Dark World will start shooting sometime in August or soon after Iron Man 3 completes filming.
Thor: The Dark World is set to be released November 8th of next year.
